I have a automatic 92 f150 It will go into 4 high no problem
but I can't seem to get it to go into 4 low.
Is there some method of doing this. It has the buttons
on the dash board to swith between high and low.
I bought his used and have not yet had to use 4 low
until I tried to use it today in deep snow, but no go.
I know with my 99 Ranger standard that you have to stop
put it neutral depress the clutch and brake and then switch
into 4 low. Any help would be great....

That's a common problem on a Ford 1436 Warner transfer case. There may be a way to resolve it and that is to take the lower shift linkage (4x4) off of the vehicle and lubricate it with never sieze. Some times the bushing part# 7335 needs to be replaced. If you put it in four wheel drive every once in a while and get it lubricated it won't happen again. DON'T try to force it in without taking it apart. If you need to replace the lower shift linkage, parts cost about $75.00. The part # is 7210 and there will be a prefix and suffix to the part # Good Luck!

P.S. Don't forget to push down on shift lever when putting into 4 wheel drive.
