It was running early last year but became my backup mower. Now I cannot get it to start. Fuel is getting to carb. Pull on recoil without the air filter on and it will shoot out flames from the carb and muffler with a loud bang but will not fire.

Any thoughts and what the problem is?

    1. Fouled Spark Plugs
    2. Water in fuel
    3. Clogged Jets/Passages in Carburetor
    4. Stale fuel
    5. Any or all of the above.

Sounds like possibly carbon build-up in the combustion chamber dried out from sitting. When you pulled it over the first couple times it broke loose and got stuck under the valves, I have seen this quite a few times.
