Ok snow aside. Is 1-2 mpg all better were going to get out of a 2 wheel over a 4 wheel drive
depending on gear ratio in the rear end but if you go with high pay load capacity f550 the most you would see is 3 mpg higher at the most, I can get 13.5 mpg with my 4x4 empty with the 4.88 rear end if i take it easy otherwise empty its 11.
I don't really pay much attention to mileage on the larger trucks, and they don't get that many miles.
Your long term repair costs should be figured in as well, and they will be lower, possibly much lower than a 4WD.
