I am buying a 48" Walk Behind for home use (and maybe some side jobs in the neighborhood). The lot sizes range from .5 acres to 1 acre. The lots are relatively flat.

I am currently looking at the following two mowers:

1.) Ferris SD Hyrdrowalk for $2,900.

    or

    2.) Gravely Pro G #988102

Some of the differences are the Ferris is the Hyrdo and the Gravely is the gear belt - but I have read on this site the the SD seems to be really hard to make a 180 degree turn.

The Ferris has the 13hp Kawasaki Single Cylinder, and the Gravely has the 15hp Kawasaki Twin. With the size of my lot (and others in the area), not sure if it really matters which one I go with.

There are other differences but not really sure if they matter.

Anyone with experiece from these two mowers who can make a recommendation - or just give some feedback with your experiences with these two 48" mowers.

Thanks!! Hopeing to purchase tomorrow :)

I should have mentioned that the Greavely runs for about the same price as the Ferris - about $100 cheaper

How about the SD's though - the single drive is the one I was looking at.
