1998 dixie, 4000 hours, in good condition, and its priced at 2,000. Is that too high or should i jump on the deal asap?

    Thanks,
    Joe

I wouldn't buy anything with 4000 hours on it.......

sounds like alot of hours for me, unless it had a new engine on it maybe, but that is still alot of hours on the other parts

I say pass. With 4,000 hours, its most likely on its last leg.

look at it this way. a mower with 4,000 hours on it is like a car with 200,000 miles on it.

its been through alot and is more than likley beat up. like alarsh said, more than likley its on its last leg and their trying to unload is before it dies all together.

unless the machine has been totally rebuilt (ask for the service records if this is the case) than i woudl pass. and by rebuilt i mean engine, major components such as hydro pumps, filters etc...

That is a lot of hours. I wouldn't give over $1000 for the machine.
