5000 lbs

    what size truck has a 5000 lb hauling capacity? Sorry about the 5 ton thread little brain hiccup on my math

    a 1 ton should be able to handle that...depending on how heavy the bed is.

    Might need something like a F450.

    an F350 regular cab diesel w/dump body weighs in around 9600lbs (half fuel and driver..me 160lbs) and with a GVWR of 12500 you can keep it "legal" by hauling a little less then 2 tons or 4000lbs. You can get away with 5000lbs depending on how often you are hauling it..if its a daily chore get an F450 or you can save a little weight by going with a gas engine over diesel.
