Well, I still have 2 1/2 weeks left for all lawn & landscaping contracts to get back from customers but so far 57% have returned them within a 1 1/2 weeks time. I am pretty happy :bday:

    Very good.

How did you handle pricing based on fuel and other expenses going up?

I left my other services, besides mowing, at my same hourly rate because I just increased it by $5 per hour per person this past spring. Almost all lawn care prices went up an average of 7%. I decided not to add a fuel surcharge this year to the contract since my prices have went up so much in the last couple of years.

    Good for you Tiedeman,
I hope next year is a great one for you.
Pricing will certainly be going up here as well.

Do you have 100% of customers on contract?

customers that I do yearly maintenance for, such as fertilization, lawn maintenance, landscaping maintenance yes all of them are on contract. But one time callers during the season I do not put them on contract.

    Good deal.
Maybe some day we'll get to that point but for now we're not.
What type of cancellation clause do you have?

well before I was a nice guy, and basically they had to give me a 15 day notice of cancelation with no fees, or anything. While this years contract is different because the customer has a one time fee of $100.00 per year (depends on the number of years they sign up for) for getting out of the contract.

Good for you, sounds like you've built a good quality customer base.
    Anyone complain about the fee?

Good to hear your doing good tideman. I am focusing on leaf and snow contracts right now. I will send mowing contracts for 2005 out in a week or two. I think I will offer the same price if they send in sighned contract before 2005. I cover gas increases by fuel surcharge which is in the contract. I also have a contract for every customer.

I have only had one customer say that he is not renewing because of the fee. But I already got in my #1-#7 top customers. In fact my number #2 customer wants to pre-pay for 3 years
