I have an older Jonh Deere 14SB with a 4.5 hp. kawasaki engine. All the serial # are gone from the motor ,at least the ones on the sticker. I have not run a compression test yet, but motor is getting OLD. I found a place where I can get a new 6.5 kawa. motor for less than 200. I really like this mower and would like to keep it for another 15 years,:clapping: I am wondering if the clutch and trans would handle the added power or should I just get present motor rebuilt. I think I have the mechanical ability to replace the motor if no speciality tools are required.:weightlifter: I do not have any experience rebuilding motors however:nono: any don't want to mess it up. Thanks:usflag:
