will 20 suffice? I see a lot for sale with the 20hp motor. But will it cut regular lush growth well, or is it underpowered? How is this motor on reliability? Thanks

I would think that would be enough. My Metro HP has a 15 kawi on it and it blows through some thick stuff without any problems weightlifter . If I were buying a brand new one then I would get the 23 kawi. You can never have enough HP'S

The 20 hp is not only a great motor, but an excellent powerpack for this mower. Dog GONE what a nice mower these are!

If it's new I would get more HP the 20 works but is a little underpowered in my eye's.

20 HP is plenty for a walkbehind mower. I remember our first 52 hydro came with a 12.5 HP on it and it worked fine. My new 52 TTs have 17 HP Kaws and run great. I do have an older 52TT that has a 22 HP Kohler on it, but other than burn more gas, I can't tell the difference.

I have run a couple TT 60" with 23HP Kohler engines. I find myself wishing they had 25hp engines on them, especially when mulching.

Personally I think a 20HP engine is a little small for a 60" deck. I guess depending on your mowing conditions it may be fine, but I would not put a much kit on it or expect it to mow wet and/or tall grass very well at all.

The new 52" TT's have a 19HP as an option. Exmark must have thought 17HP must have been a little underpowered. I'm sure this is more of an issue when running a Velke and/or a mulch kit.
