We are contemplating a 72" lazer for '05 because of the large properties we continue to pick up,so I am looking for those of you who have them (specifically Exmark) To tell me your experience.

How well does the frame of the mower hold up with a 72" deck hanging on it?

Any problems with bent or cracked frames?

Enough power with a 27 horse motor?

    Wheel motor problems?

    Pump problems?

I ask because I am a bit leary of all of the weight of a 72" deck bouncing around all day.

Responses from owners and users appreciated.

    Thanks.

We are running a 72 with a 27 liquid cooled Kawasaki and it has not caused any problems out of the ordinary. Seems to have enough power and it can reallly cut some grass. It does tend to scalp on uneven ground so we dont use it on just any property.

I bought several 72 Lazers that were used on an Air Force Base.
These machines had 2500+ hours on them with 27Kohlers.
These machines had been run with Mobil1 synthetic oil and had no issues. Those 72 decks are good on large open ground but they do scalp on uneven ground. They are ok for side discharge but do not hav enough power to mulch unless you run diesel power.
    Good Luck

Check the 72' BAD BOY mower. No worrier about frame and price is right. Rides like a dream and fast.

I do believe the 72's will scalp and it will not be used on lawn areas around the houses themselves, mainly 2+ acre props up to about 5 acres of open cutting. We are at a point of needing to open up some hours so we need to be a bit more productive on the open cutting properties.

It would be used for strictly discharging,no mulching.

Thanks megmo,I'll be looking at other options but pretty much set on exmark as we've got 3 and I would rather stay with one dealer and interchangeable parts, but all options are open for a time.
