Hey got a 2001 GMC 3500 1 ton dually dump. Was wondering if i could get away with putting a 8 FT fisher MM on that thing instead of the 8.5FT. I have a chance to get a 8FT fisher maybe for cheap so was just sking if anyone has run that size plow on that size truck? Just wondering also if the rear tires will drive over the windrow? I measured the outer rear wheels and they are not 8 FT accross.

    thanks

You may want to go onto plowsite for that and you may want to get a plow bigger than 8'.

When you angle the plow, it will clear a path smaller than 8 feet, and the back tires will be on snow. And you will have problems on sharp curves.

As I think about it a little more, I would recommend getting a plow that is at least 8'6, but a 9 footer would probably be ideal for a 3500 dually.

You will be packing down the snow when you make sharp turns, as the plow will not cover your rear wheels. I had the same issue a few years back. Go with a 9' plow if you can. Don't get me wrong, an 8' plow will work, but i doubt you will be happy with the results....
