    It depends on the skid steer. I have a frieds who blew the motor on his 1845 Case. His Reman unit was $6,400.00, and, since the rod damaged the old engine, he did not get core credit and got hosed for another $750.00.

    If you have a good injector pump and injectors, rebuild kits are not that bad. We redid a 42HP naturally aspirated Perkins in a Gehl for $840.00, with machine work. The injection pump however, was another story. It cost $1750.00 with injectors. The whole thing was still less than a reman engine from the factory.

    Depending on what it is you are looking for, and the price of what you are considering that needs an engine, you might just as well be better off going for something that is ready to run right now.
