I'm thinking of using a Chevy Astro van for a while to pull a 16' trailer....the van has the v-6 vortec engine...my question is, does anyone know how well it will pull...I've seen other companies using trucks with the same engine, so it will probably work out...What about stopping??? I'm currently using a Dakota will pulls really well..any suggestions???

I used to have a 95 astro and we pulled a farely large U haul trailer with it with no problems at all, we also drove through the mountains with the trailier on it, so it should work great.

That's why there are trailer brakes. The Astro should be comparable to my S-10 and as long as the trailer brakes work everything is fine.

Sorry it took so long to reply, but like he said if you have trailer breaks it will definetally be fine. Our stopping power was great, with the largest fully loaded trailer U haul had, so with or without trailer breaks it should do great. They also get decent gas milege hope it works out for ya'.
