I have a 99 lazer with the 25 kohler. Now here is the problem, when I go to start the machine in the morning, its dead, its clicks for a bit then nothing, sometimes I don't even get the clicking from the starter. So I jump it to get it going, then its fine for a few hours while mowing, most of the time I can get the day in before I start having problems, oh I never turn the mower off, if I do it wont come back on. Now if even if I charge the mower at night, during the day it wont hold a charge, and maybe a 1/2 hour or so the mower goes to die out, then that's it even if I jump it it wont run with the mower on. Any ideas, I have replaced the battery twice, I dont know where to start???????????????

Ok found the regulator, I don't think I did this right, nor do I think I have the right meter, I put the mete on the only setting that was showing a number, and the number was 4.9 and still going up

You need a multimeter such as this; http://images.search.yahoo.com/imag...&sigr=11e6dc7no&sigi=116fe38cp&sigb=13c9bfbdt

For the running stator test the meter MUST be set to read AC voltage, To test for battery voltage on the center wire at the regulator plug (un-plugged from the regulator) the meter needs to be set to DC volts. This wire should read the same voltage as the battery with the key in the run position.
