Only thing bad I remember reading is something about a tendency to spit out spark plugs and ruin the threads in the block. Do a little research.

The v-10 wont spit any plugs as long as you torq em down to 14 ft pds

V10's have some great power. It sounds like a pretty good deal.

yeah the plugs are fine as long as u torque them when changed aqnd dont over rev to much....which causes them to pop.

V10 are very good motors but are gas hogs

lol redmax fan, you wont be sad with gettin the v-10. And dont be afraid to rev it. Its a SOHC style top end and the loves revin. lol it performs better when towin on the highway when reved. The sweet spot while towin grades is at 3500-4000 RPMS. And if u ever have the plugs changed on ur v-10, just have the dealership do it, only if its a 99 to early 03. In 03, they added more threads to the cyl heads to prevent these plugs from spittin out. If you have the dealership change em and it spits out, just blame it on them cause they did the work lol

I used to have one it was a 2000. Loved it but it loved its fuel too much for me. Like posted earlier don't try to run it like a Diesel at low RPM's it is a rever. Keep the RPM's up high when towing and it will impress the hell out of ya with its pulling ability. It sounds like a good price as long as the body doesn't have too much rust and is in good condition.
