I've got a couple of my commercial accounts (larger strip malls) that want me to bid out the garbage pickup on a every-other-day schedule.

    This includes the cigarette butts.

I was thinking, what if a guy rigged up his generator to a decent sized shop vac, and then pulled it around on a little wagon behind the ZTR??

99% of the time you're going to have the butts right along the curb.

I realize that you can use a shred-n-vac, but those aren't always the greatest with getting the real small stuff picked up.

    Anyone else have any ideas??

Sounds like an interesting idea but, where are you going to mount everything on the Z?

On a trailer / wagon that gets pulled behind the mower and / or ATV.

Basically this is a $10k bid for the year for 2 properties to pick up the trash 3 times / week.

Boy that sounds like a hassle.

Why would it be a hassle???

Once you've got it set up, and I've already got the parts, it's done, just drive around and suck up the butts.

It's a lot fast that the broom / dustpan that the old guy did it with.

I'm just trying to figure out something that'll work better than a shred-n-vac.

LM22, sorry I had read you whole post but for some reason spaced out when replying.

Would'nt it be easier to make a rigid mount setup for what your talking about and create a hitch for the Z?

Problem with that is, I think the generator would be too heavy to run on a rigid mount behind the ZTR.

I'm just talking a wagon about the size of a radio flyer, little larger to hold the generator and the vac....

what about a trac vac? could you hook it up to a pvc pipe instead of the deck? not sure how powerful it would be.
    hope this helps

why not get a little creative and rig up a leaf loader setup for this purpose?
