I am looking for a new riding mower. I have an acre but I'm tired of dealing with cheap lawnmowers, but I'm still on a budget. Here is what I am considering at around the $2500 mark.

    Cub Cadet Super LT 1550 @ $2499
    Craftsman Professional Series 25hp, 46 in @ $1999
    Toro GT 2100 @ $2499
    Craftsman DGS6500 24hp, 46in

The John Deer X300 is a bit out of my range at $2799

I was looking in a add today in the paper and noticed Sears is selling Snapper's now. They have 23hp twin Briggs with a 46" deck for $1799.98. It may be worth looking at.

The Cub is trash. I know, as I was a dealer for Cub last year. I don't think any of the others you listed are much better. However, having said that, some of the Sears are not really too bad, ( for homeowner use), and parts are easy to get from aftermarket sources.
