Job Description: Power Equipment Technician Performs operation, maintenance, and repairs, to including, but not limited to 2-cycle, and 4-cycle power equipment; including but not limited to blowers, trimmers, chainsaws, walk behind and riding lawn equipment, small engines, generators, etc. Includes the inspection, operation, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of fuel, cooling, electrical, hydraulic, and lubricating systems, and overall mechanical operational systems of equipment. Knowledge of both residential and commercial end user equipment helpful. Performs inspection and evaluation of equipment using personal observation, general and specialized tools. Makes repairs, maintenance, and overhauls as required using general and specialized tools, equipment, service manuals, computer parts look up, speaking with service manager, or manufacturer representatives. Use of a computer is required. Must obtain, or be able to obtain prior to job start general service and repair tools. A generalized list of tools required is available. This position also requires working in service center atmosphere, and includes regular interaction with the general public, customers, co-workers, vendors, and dogs.
