Accepting credit cards

    so blue pay and authorized.net is the protocols that the bank reads?

    means i would have to go through intuit to find a merchant i think. since i use quickbooks. sap sounds interesting tho. sounds expensive.

    Deductible business expense. Can also be added on as a convenience charge. If it means being able to close a deal then its money well spent. Old saying "you have to spend money to make money" is still relavent today.

    yea. but it has more features than the cheap erones it sounds.

    Like I said, I traded my 3% (2.99) for not having 7% dead beats, quicker payments, better cash flow, time savings, labor savings.

    I do not think my dead beats would pay even with a cc

    You miss the point. By forcing the use of cc and auto charging, I don't have dead beats. The most I'm ever into a client is 3 weeks of mowing. And that's only if their charge failed on week 1. Forcing the credit cards will steer the dead beats from becoming customers in the first place

    Also, it's a lot easier to pay with a credit card than write a check these days. So for the non-deadbeats, it speeds up those payments as well

    not everyone wants to use credit cards. esspicially the older folk. seems you would be missing out on a lot of work.

    We did the transition very soft.

    Existing clients had the option it started at about 25% and has gone up to about 50%

    New customers, we just tell them as we are selling them. 9 out of 10 don't question it and. Sign right up.

    For the one that does question it, I Make a judgement based on how bad I want the account and their likely hood to pay on time. Some I stick to my guns and we miss the work, others I will bill monthly and they are told that I am grandfathering them in, and that the first time they are late we will then require a cc.

    I almost never have a problem with older people paying up.

    You have to remember its not about how much "work" you get. It's about how much pays up that you can keep. I do understand the older might not want to. But anyone under the age of 60 uses a credit card or bank card. If they turn you down, there's pretty good odds they are the ones with cash flow problems and they are the dead beats.

    Paying the Lawncare guy is dead last on the list. If you shut their electric off, they pay. If their cell gets shut off, they pay. If you stop mowing their lawn, they just get the next guy too.
