I've got an old 72" scag walk behind. It's a great mower but on rough ground the corners of this wide deck sometimes dig in. I'm thinking about adding a set of 8" push mower wheels to each side of the mower deck. Just bolt them onto the deck edge near the front of the deck.

Most of the time these extra wheels would just hang in the air. But if the deck edge was going to dig in, it would roll on these wheels instead.

Just wondering if anybody's done this or if anybody's got a smarter solution.

    Thanks.

I would just use regular anti scalp wheels. Just make sure you keep them clean so they dont seize up. Plus they will look more professional.

they make a dual wheel kit for it that really helps for that Situation. I run duallies on a 61 but I run 22 x 11 wheels and it works great. I have a set of left over wheels like new for a scag if interested and I bought my dually kit on ebay for 75$.
