My trailer is a 14ft trailer with no sides..just pockets. I got new 12" high braces welded upright in place and am about to add the angle top rail. my question is this: my frame is 2x3 tube frame..but it was slightly bowed from previous owner hauling a skidsteer. I have since got it straightend out or accually slightly oppisite and concave in center and want to leave it that way while adding top rail. Keep in mind had no other support but frame and floor. I am hoping to get some support from my new rail I'm adding. I know some trailers use 2x2 angle at 1/8 inch thick. would 2x2 at 3/16 inch instead be better choice for this? would have less give wouldn't it..or is it just overkill and adding more weight? I will be building drop gate in back with 2x2 of 3/16 inch too. How thick is your top angle on your side rail on your trailer? geno
