I just bought a used 48" John Deere walk behind with no manual. I think its an older model, but the model number is worn off and the owner didn't know the year.

I am trying to lower the cutting height about a half inch, and can't figure out how to lower the rear end. I got the front to where I want it, but now the wholw mower is slanting forward.

Any jd owners out there who can help me out with this?

I think your supposed to only change the spacers on your blades to change cutting height on those.

Wb mowers with fixed deck configuration are usually adjusted in the front only. This adjustment will raise or lower the cutting height just fine with out afecting the cut, the angle of the blades is not important just the height of the leading edge.

My old mower was a toro proline and it had to be adjusted in the front and back
