im having a starting problem on my exmark with a 23hp kawi. it seems to start right up in the morning no problem, but later in the day the engine wines when i try to start it.i changed the spark plugs and it worked fine for about a month and now it doing it again. i talked to the dealer today and he said it wasnt the starter, he said it might be the valves that need to be adjusted. how do you adjust the valves? or should i let them do it

Before doing anything get your model and serial number and call your local repair shop. Ask them to look it up and see if you can adjust the valves.

Some of the Kawasaki motors have hydraulic lifters and therefor do not have adjustable valves.

It's unlikely this Exmark has a FE350/400 horizontal single cylinder engine.
