Advertising accomplishments!!

    What does everyone here feel that is the most effective advertising?

    Cos, I can only speak from my experience. I've put out flyers, which is a rather inexpensive thing to do, which is why I did it. Seems like every time I do it, I pick up a client or two, so it way pays for itself. I ran an ad in a local paper called the Iwanta, www.iwanta.net, if you want to look at the paper, and the only call I got on it was from a guy that wanted work! Newspaper classifieds are expensive, IMO, but I know a guy that does tree work in Spartanburg and that's where he gets most of his work, and he stays busy.

    Augusta? Was there when I was stationed in Fort Gordon for AIT. Very nice area and the women are beautiful.

    Newspaper articles about the company or some aspect of service we offer.

    Flyers would be up there also.

    Word of mouth is probobly the best (but could be the worst if you don't do good work) type of advertising.

    I think targeted direct mail and flyers are a good idea also....But the key word is targeted.

    Word of mouth gets the BEST customers, but in terms of volume, (forgive me for saying it)... Telemarketing. Now I do not do this at all, but I know several LCO's who hire someone to cold call out of the phone book and they get RESULTS. This one guy picked up the phone book, called for 3 hours and got a lot of aerations!
    I suppose going door to door would be the next best thing. You could stop at the closest 8 homes to one of your stops when you are out. A lot of times if the perspective customer "likes" you, you'll get the sale. I am going to do more of this.

    I think that the most effective form of advertisement next to word of mouth would be to have pictures of your work. Say three to four shots of each service that you provide. This way when a potential client asks you can show them what your are capable of and what they can expect. ;)

    We've tried using Val Pak and a similar company called Super Coups. A big waste of money. Out of 40,000 inserts. Recieved 5 leads and 2 became customers. Cost $1400

    Telemarketing works, but costs. Does any body know of any special software or phone systems that will help increase call productivity?

    Also when doing flyers. I would like to know what cost are involved in printing and distrubution methods.

    Info would be appreciated.
