Advertising aditional services on invoice

    Do you think that on the bottom of an invoice for a mowing customer would be a good place to up sell services such as aeration? I was thinking that I could have a box next to additional services and have them check the box if they would like the services.I would just keep track of this information and when it was time to complete the service it would just do it.

    I used to do that, but the messages seemed to go unnoticed...I think most people just look at the total they owe. What seems to work better for me is to include a separate letter or flyer on a different color paper. It's more work stuffing the envelopes but it gets results.

    Also you could just call everyone, or better yet, send an email. I only have maybe 40% of my customers email addresses but I just sent out a little blurb about aerating and seeding and about a third of those customers responded looking for a quote.
