I have several trees, which show signs of bore damage. I've tried the Lindane recomended by my local nursery, but it hasn't been effective. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated; I don't want to loose all my trees!

You need to accurately diagnose which type of borer and the extent of the damage so far. If there is too much damage then treatment may not be effective. I would reccomend getting an arborist to help you.

I often use soil injections of Merit for borers with good results. I would reccomend Merit if your borer is on the lablel.
    Good Luck,
