In the past I always aerate, overseed, then starter fert. But a question was raised about seed waste, lack of germination, soil contact.. So I demoed a Billy Goat overseeder which is a little tank that can be converted to a dethatcher. I haven`t seen the results of last weeks work yet but in my humble opinion, the slit seeder will definately pay for itself in the long run because of how it mixes the seed with the dirt and lays out a nice seed bed. The big hang up was the weight on a hilly area , and shutting off the seeder when coming to the end of a pass. Any similar experiances ??
