They are a bit more labour intensive than your standard hollow tine core cultivater due to the debris being scattered versus nice clean plugs. See at .graden.com.au

Come on guys this is something new (linear Aeration)
    Dose nobody care?

Everyone excepts the importance of a good aeration program.
The vital area 12-30mm beneath the turf surface is neglected by hollow tine aeration
We have used the Graden with 3mm blades 4 times on our worst lawns and has dramatically reduced our thatch layer in less than 4 months. It has also completly eradicated a black layer problem and made the turf a lot more firmer and free draining.
The other int-resting difference when using the graden over hollow core is the root development, two weeks after using it new white roots were seen following all the way down every groove. After the four times we have used it we have turned some of our weakest lawns into some of our strongest!

Also the gradens will cultivate 14.1% of an area using 3mm blades as to only 4.91% with 12mm coring tines set up for a 50mm by 50mm hole pattern
I am now thinking of purchasing a tractor mount swing wing verticut for larger areas.
