I am in Indiana and what would be the ideal time to begin aerations and seeding? Also what rates do you recommend for seed?

We started on the 1st of September. The idea of fall overseeding is to get the new grass germinated and growing b4 winter sets in. Then the new grass roots are plenty deep b4 the drought of summer and have a better chance of surviving.
Unless a customer has an irrigation system, it's probably not going to get watered.

Early sept - early oct are usually best for us here in Ohio, otherwise you can do a dormant seeding after thanksgiving so that germination won't take place until early spring, provided there isn't a big warm up through the winter. Seeding after mid Oct through the end of november is usually risky since soil temps drop quicker and frost typically won't allow for a good germination.

When overseeding after aeration, what seed (fescue) rate per 1000 sq ft do you use?
