I hate the "how much do I charge?" threads just as much as anywhere else, but now i need some help and am asking the same question lol. I have a couple custmers that have been asking about aeration. My question is, what is the going rate for aeration? I would have to rent a tow behind aerator, but say I can do a wide open lawn with my 52" Z master in 30 minutes, what would you charge to aerate that? I obviously am just looking for rough numbers. I am located in SE PA.

THanks alot!! I hope you guys are having a successful season.

    Thanks :usflag:

At an absolute bottom 1.5 times the mowing rate for me. 3x the mowing rate is nice but tough to do here.

I'm trying to get away from the price shopper bean counter mode of the client asking how much...? Type of machine matters. Most clients are not sharp enough to comprehend this properly. I have been extremely frustrated with it over the years frankly.

Currently in production nothing beats of exceeds the plug count of the Plugr® 800 series or the Ryan 28 WB reciprocating aerators. Still people don't want to pay more for those. Happens all the time....I will aerate a lawn with just a single pass meanwhile the lawn next to it was aerated with a standard rolling time unit and the difference is night and day.....

Vastly too many variables. I now include aeration as a no extra charge bundled add on with season long fertilization accounts.

My programs are results driven. I will drop applications account who refuse to abide by proper cultural maintenance practices.

My attitude why do I want to bother with scalp fest homeowners who over water, wrong time of day, have fungal issues and always think.they need power.raking.

I did one today that was 15,000 sq. ft., i used my bluebird 530a.. what a workout.. lol. $100 bucks, took 1.5 hours to go over it one time.. pretty wide open, not to bad on hills. i felt like i could have gotten more, and i was dreading the job, but i felt like it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. I did a little 6k square foot lawn for $90.00 last week, it was farther than i wanted to go and they agreed on my price, so it was a nice little job. Although, I seem to avg. $75.00 for a small lawn 3k to 5k. I hate to aerate, i see guys all around offering it for $40.00 bucks, screw that. Thats probably why I only get 2 or 3 a summer. don't matter, i hate aerating. :)

$99 + the mowing rate = Aerating charge.

This way I don't have to worry if I have to split the cost of rental over multiple lawns.

    So a $35 lawn will be $134

    $60 is $159

No one has ever said I was too expensive.

Sweet....! If I could get that with little resistance I'd consider bailing on mowing and just do APS and aerations.

Waaay too many low price hacks here to get those rates in my area. Seriously I'm doing good to get 1.5x to double the mowing rate....even with a Plugr® 850 with noticeably more plugs.

Like I said before $29.95 up to 8k sq feet. Why bother....?

I have even had loyal clients say, Green Hack only charges $29....? Why are you charging me $65....?

I am around $12/K here. Been turned down a few times, accepted a few more. So I figure I am in the right ballpark. Aerating is a lot of work OP, charge out the butt for it don't do anything less.
