I don't usally aerate this late in the season. Will aeration damage the roots of the grass after the temp drops under 50 degrees? I am not seeding, just putting a fall fertilizer down after. I did a search but could not find an answer. Thanks for anyone who could help me out. I live in the Cincinnati area to help you out with the location and the grass I will be aerating is tall fescue.

  2. I don't think so. Last year I aerated right up 'till two days before the ground froze. and it really helped the lawn.

    Thanks Dave,

I heard a comment about it in a past thread and could not find anything from my lawn care books. Now I hope the rain lets up so it will not be so muddy.
