Yesterday I ran an aerator for some neighbors. Some houses cores came to the surface very well. Some houses holes were punched but few cores came to the surface. All houses were on the same street and block. Why is this? Soil, thatch, turf density, compaction? Machine ran fine, just core problem? Help!

Ryan brand walk behind model if it matters

Did you have any rocks stuck in coring tine? Sometimes leaves will get built up and keep the cores from stripping off the tines properly. Thirdly cores stand on top of the thicker turf and fall to the base of the plants in thinner turf. Wetter soils can sometimes resist the cores from stripping off of tines.

    1grnlwn,

Rocks did not seem stuck in the tines.
