My dad has quit the tree & lawn business after 20 years. Earlier this year we sold all our equipment and went out to buy new or slightly used stuff. Dad has decided to just stop doing the work and is now working on a new business. Just wanted to give you all heads up.

BTW we will stay online and will share what we know.

He is bought into a nutritoinist company which has become very big this year. Not something I would ever do but its his choice.

BTW in two years I will be restarting the company.

Why didn't he turn the biz over to you?

Because I'm only 16 and he doesn't want me to do this work. I asked him to still do it until I turned 18 but he wouldn't do it. He wants me to be an engineer or something like that. I still carry the business name for the 10 properties I service but thats it.

GOOD LUCK with the startup in the future.

You might want to listen to our dear old dad, go to college and get a degree in turf specialization, then get in the biz and really kick some butt!

I am a father of a smart a$$ punk kid too. ( I say that with total respect and love). Get the best education you can- if you still want to work in this field, Fine but do not cut your options. He has worked in this field 20 years and KNOWS what it is REALLY about. Listen to his advice. He is giving it because he wants the best for you.
