Air filter Case for 27hp L/C Kaw FD750D S04

    Anyone know why Kawasaki puts those four holes on top of the plastic air filter case, and on top of the air filter itself. As I see it, those four holes allow debris to get sucked in directly into the carburetor (that's engine sandpaper!). There's nothing to stop the dust since the Washer 92200-2136, also does not seal the holes.

    This 27hp Liquid Cooled Kawasaki FD750 S04 is the engine on my 2001-2002 Scag Cougar.
