I am thinking about putting aluminum rims on all four wheels of my 16' open trailer. I know the rims would be sufficient to hold the weight of my mowing equipment, but would they be sufficient enough to hold the weight of a load of mulch, or debris from a clean up job?

I'd stay away from cast aluminum and go with the forged type - much stronger.

get alcoa wheels they are turned from one solid chunk not molded they use them on 18wheelers if that tells you how strong they are,and they come in trailer sizes(also on my f350 16 inch)

I put them on my Well cargo (7'x14") enclosed, and they look great. They are made for a trailer. I have carried about 7500# trailer and mulch ,combined weight, with no problem.
I would be more concerned about the type and quality of tire not the wheel.

I haven't been very lucky locating these rims, do you have any suggestions. I am in the Atlanta area.

Alcoa doesn't make wheels for trailers yet. I went through trailer port, one of the above sponsers that linked me to Southwest Wheel. The guy there called Alcoa and they just don't make them.

The ones I purchased are 15"x6" and are a star design. I have received numerous compliments on them.
I purchased them locally from a trailer builder that is a friend of mine.
I will find out where you may get them in your area and who the manufacture is.
