I have 607ft2 of beds that I want to plant wave petunias and vinca in. What do I divide 607 by to get my # of plants? If I divide 607 by 1 that gives me 607 plants. I will be using 4" and there are 18 to a flat. This give me a total of 34 flats, is that right? Sounds like a lot. Should I raise the # from one to 2 or 3? Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!

Wave petunias spread rapidly and can be planted 12" on center. Vinca and I assume flowering vinca, "not the groundcover" should be planted on approx 6" on center. Educate the customer that the plants, especially the petunias do not need to be jammed together. To figure quantities, figure the square feet per variety and do the math. You'll need a lot less than 34 flats. Wave petunias usually come 18 to a flat, but vincas you can get in 32s or 36s.

PLI1 gave you good info...I plant the waves at least 12" apart and this year further apart. If you fert them, they will spread beyond what the tags says
