I just rebuilt the pump on my toro hoping that it would solve the chatter problem but now i have back pressure in the tank and oil is shooting out of the cap on the hydro tank...

    anyone have this problem before?

What brand pump is it? I have asked a few times about Eaton 778 hydro pump rebuilding and haven't gotten many responses here. Where did you find your internal parts for it?
Good luck with your repair though!!

Sounds like you overfilled the tank.

Did you 1) Pre-fill the pump before attempting to start. All that air has to go somewhere. 2) Switch the suction and return hoses by chance. Some you can, most you can't. With no numbers, nobody really knows what your working on.
