Anti-Scalp Wheels on Scag Tiger Cub

I bought a 2000 48" Tiger Cub last fall. The seller had removed the anti-scalp wheels and brackets. One of the brackets was badly damaged. I ordered a new bracket and two new wheels.

I tried to put them on tonight, and the wheel on the right side hits the front wheel when it swings toward the back. There's no way this can be right. I know that the 2000 model frame is about 3 inches narrower than the current models. It has the Advantage deck, I'm wondering if the deck may have been replaced with a newer model.

    Any thoughts???

It's possible that they changed the deck, but my guess is if the machine took a spill/drop that bent the bracket, it's possible it cracked the weld on the castor arm, and it's possible they changed it out with the incorrect one-the front castor arm is a lot easier to change than the deck. Also, you can order several different bends and extensions for Turf Tigers-my guess that applies to the cubs as well. Perhaps a longer or wider bend will help-Good Luck

Thanks, Shultz! The original anti-scalp bracket was given to me. It was bent from either striking something or from loading on the trailer.

I'm going to try offsetting the bracket about 3 inches with a piece of 1/4" plate. Maybe I'll post a photo when I get it done.
