Ants and Armadillos Attack

    I don't know if it's a seasonal thing I never paid attention to before or if it's due to it being so dry and the only water around is in the irrigated lawns but ants (leafcutter, fire and piss) mounds are springing up everywhere around here and the armadillos are out in force too.

    I don't/can't do any pesticide work. I'm just curious if this is normal. I've been chasing ant mounds around and whittling them down with Orthene (Acephate). My neighborhood's method of armadillo control probably wouldn't work commercially anyway (three retired GIs with lawn chairs, NVGs, cooler and crossbow pistol with laser aimpoint).

    Now that you've posted this, Blackwater will be down there to recruit those three Ex-GI's on Armadillo Patrol.
