I'm looking at buying a zero turn to my our 1 acre lawn. I don't want a home depot model, because I want something a little more heavy duty. I want it to last and also to be able to mow another lawn or two on the weekends if something comes up. This will be the first ztr to even ride. Ive looked at used Hustler Fastraks, and some Deere 445's. These 2 Lescos are on craigslist for a decent price. Any input appreciated.

I would not buy a Lesco at any price. Lesco machines were built by MTD, and, were basicly Cub Cadet/Commercial machines in Green paint. Parts PROBABLY are available direct from MTD online. I would not count of good parts availability though, since the last Lesco machine rolled off the assembly line quite a few years ago.
Almost any other used commercial ZTR will be better over the long run, depending on what type of maint. it has received.

I knew there had to be a reason for them being so cheap.

OK, now I'm looking at a Hustler Fastrak SD. It looks good on the outside, but the hour meter doesn't work. It's at a dealer. Someone traded it in so its not the original owner. What do I look at or how can I tell if it's in good mechanical shape?
