Any luck with Cottonless Cottonwoods?

It's been about two years since I last heard about cottonless cottonwoods being marketed on a limited basis in Michigan and Wisconsin. Has anyone up there had any feed back on them? If they work out and are truly cottonless, maybe they, along with the 15/16 percent hybrid American Chestnuts being tested at Ohio U., can help fill the devastation that the Emerald Ash borer has done up there and will eventually do in Ohio? The onlything wrong with a cottonwood is the cotton. There is not a prettier looking or soundingtree anywhere except for you lucky ones who live where the Aspens grow.
