Looking at a new machine that has a 2002 17HP Kawi on it... (electric start) Any known problems or concerns with this engine?

Also any concerns with a 2002 48" Turf Tracer HP?

    Thanks

Sorry kind of lost by your post is this a new mower with an old motor?
Kawi in the 2002 yr are ok the only real issues were coils, starters, valve adjustments. As far as the mower itself I don't know of any major problems.

Well that is quite a few issues.... It has about 75 hrs on it. Used for personal use. (original engine on the w/b, just looking at buying it)

It'll last about 1500 hrs min. though, right?

Don't wanna sound like a noob, first Kawi. I've racked up 650 hours on kohler and no problems...

I have a 17hp Kaw that is 15-20 years old. It has never been in service in all that time. Just oil, filter, plug etc...

Sounds good. I bought the machine for pretty good price. Probably pick it up this weekend.

DJL50 your engine is a single cylinder engine and yes they were rock solid but this 2002 is more then likely a v-twin and had a couple of minor issues.
