I'm going to mow a yard today thats never been cut. They laid the sod in late january. Do I need to push mow it? Bag it? or will my walk behind with an open discharge be okay?

Grab a hold of it and see if it has grabbed on yet. If it is rooted you should have no problem cutting it normally. If it is still loose I would use a push mower.

Assuming it wasn't put down by Larry, Curly and / or Moe working together (or not)....you should be just fine any way you do it.

    Bagging ?!?
I can't believe anyone still catches their clippings in this day and age..unless they're too busy (or lazy) to mow "on time" before their lawns get out of control...then it's just irresponsible.
Throwing the clippings onto the curb for trash pickup... is equal to throwing a % of your last fertilizer application right down the drain !
