Does anyone offer a small discount for pre paid for the year accounts? I was thinking of that and just wondered how it worked out for someone that may have tried it.

i would venture to say this wouldnt work, because there are so many sketchy unreliable landscaping / lawn care providers, maybe if you had an account for a few years and you proved yourself then it might work, it really depends on the customer...... in terms of discounts, i might offer a discount if a customer refers their neighbors, but by all means i never suggest discounts

I did this year. Home- owner offered to pay up front and I gave him about $150 discount. It helped me out and put a little extra $ in my account to start the year.

We offer a ten percent discount for prepaying for the season. Not many take it, but it does help to have the cash at the beginning of the season.

I also have a 10% pre-pay discount. I have only about 4-5 customers per year that take me up on it. It is a good way to replenish the account after the no snow winters we have had the last couple of years.

I could probably offer 5% off any prepay but I can't see it working, too much for my feeble brain cell to deal with.

I just throw in little extras when I have the time, prune up a bush, spray for weeds, just whatever I see needs doing take maybe 5-10 minutes and have a nice day. :waving:

We have started offering 3 discounts that can be aggregated.

10% - contract discount - they pay a month up front and its billed to a credit card for a seasonal time commitment.

10% - neighborhood discount (if we do 5 or more yards in the same neighborhood on the same day) - we let the neighbors have something to talk about

5% - affinity discount (realtor, teacher, doctor, etc.) - this is good for word of mouth
