are these engines any good?

    i can get a brand new 7.5hp engine for $179 without a fuel tank are these engines built good? that seems cheap anyone have any experiece with them:confused: :cool:

    whoops i forgot to mention it is a Robin sorry, i believe they are owned by subaru, are they any good

    I don't remember the brand of mower, but I think they have been used on a commercial 21". Have you tried doing a search here on LS. I know I have heard them mentioned.

    I have seen a few Robin trimmers, blowers, small engines on go carts, pushmowers ect. I haven't heard anything bad about them.

    Yeah I think Snapper may have used them on their commercial 21's.

    They're probably not too bad. How much are comparable Briggs or Kawis? Tecumsehs seem to be the underdog in the small engine race. Haven't really heard too much about Robins.

    What is the application? If this is going on a machine that's not used a whole lot, you can probably get by with a cheap motor. Even Honda is selling an OHC motor now for less than $200.

    i have seen robin engines used on aplications such as generators, snappper mowers, plate compactors etc i saw one at a store.it looked well built too bad i didnt need one the guys who i talk to who have them love them

    We have on on our Perma-Green, runs decent but is often tough to start. I would spend a few more dollars on something else, Honda or Kohler.
