I have somebody that wants to spray weeds around roses and Jasamine. Would Atrazine kill the Roses and/or Jasamine? Of cause she doesn't want to harm the plants. If it would, is there anything else that can be used around plant beds and is safe for the plants but kills the weeds?

    Thanks

For what its worth,my father in law is a rose hobbyist. I talked with him and his advice---- Roses are sensitive to all post emerents so if applied cover the plants. He recommends covering the plants completely and using Roundup because of it's lack of mobility in the soil. It would also get the grassy weeds.

According to the UGA Cooperative Extension Service, you are not suppose to apply atrazine over the root zone of ornamental shrubs.
