Can someone tell me what is meant by attachment capable (like the TBC-420PF) for some of the trimmers? I do not see any split shaft, so how are the attachments used? Change the shaft? Custom order?

    Thanks,
    Abe

Basically take the trimmer gear box off and put an attachment on.

The split shaft BS is a more recent development.

    Thanks pugs.

So how easy is it to swap things at the gearbox? A couple of screws?

Yah, generally its a screw that lines it up in the hole on the shaft and another screw that clamps them to the shaft. Loosen those 2...pull the gearbox off. Put attachment on and line it up...tighten 2 screws.

Hardest part is usually aligning the shaft to get the gearbox or attachment on fully.

The ones that split in the middle are toolless so probably a little faster but very similar.
