All true, fertigation is complicated, but a great idea if done right. A backflow assembly is required in most areas, and it's an RPBA above ground unit. Organic fertilizers are available, as well. Check the client's wallet. :)

This is exactly what I was gonna say. so many systems that water extremely inefficiently would just spell disaster.

On the other hand, makes one more conscience of many aspects of the trade that are taken for granted or ignored.

Great thing about AG is that everything is huge in comparison to landscape irrigation. AG pumps, thousands of gallons per minute, thousands of heads, millions of dollars of equipment and product which requires that mistakes be few and far between.

SDI would be the only time I would consider it, but outside of Ag, sports turf and perhaps some high value collections on a nutrient poor soil it is not worth the hassle or cost IMO.

there is one system in our area I know of. winterized it a few years ago for him(not sure why I don't any longer). seemed kinda cheaply made for the parts, but his lawn looks great and he uses it still himself. he also has a well designed system.

Yup, the companies I worked for back then had us do those. Interestingly enough they were done with a DCV instead of a RPZ. :hammerhead:
