Back from England and Sweden. Just some thoughts.

  8. Europe has the VAT tax. 15% and 25% in Sweden on most of my bills. Also have big gas tax. in some ways they have a more equitable tax system because everybody pays taxes because of VAT and sales taxes. Though they do tax income as well. A hefty tax to say the least. our tax system is based on the 20% at the top paying the great bulk and 48% at the bottom paying no federal income tax. I'd gladly trade the current tax system for a sales or VAT tax. the other thing I noticed is....at least in England.....they deal with the bottle necks of social services and pensions much better. if they see a big deficit in HC costs they just ration it more and cut off HC to the elderly before it develops into a catastrophe. The people are numb to it.
    Texas is still the best tax system going inmo. If it didn't get to 107 degrees half of NY would have moved there by now.

    NH tax system has ya beat. 9% meals and rooms tax , no sales tax , no income tax.
