For those of us that do backflow testing we are required to have our test kits certified every year. I've been using Gage-It the last few years and never had a problem.

I was just wondering who you use and what your source for outdoor backflow tags are?

That's a nice website they have. Worth saving. :)

You can calibrate a differential gauge with a water column. However, that doesn't give it street cred.

I got my tags from a website called "waterproofbackflowtags.com"
I had my company name, my name and lic. # put on them, you write in the device info, on the back is room for at least 10 dates and initials for testing.

I haven't had my kit calibrated yet, there is a company close to me that I may use, though I've heard it's not cheap.

We use a local company to certify out backflow devices called Labtronix. They basically repair and certify all types of testing equipment. If we have one local, I would guess most areas would also have a company rather than shipping the units out.

Shipping them is a pain in the a$$ and take times. We take 3 units in and then the other 3 once the first are ready which is normally only a couple days. Makes it simple and very convenient to have all calibrated on the same schedule.

Best prices we have found and they are fast.

    I have 3 test kits now. All mid-west 830's

Im getting ready to sell one on Ebay if anyone is interested, PM me
I just sold one two weeks ago to a fellow in Canada.

Specialty Valve in Charlotte NC is who services our test kits in NC

$96.00 including shipping for the annual recertification.

That price can more than double if them deem the kit needs repair... Stuck needle valve - a leak or what not...
